THE PLACE
Opened in April 2025, Bazaar Hall is a hybrid mixed-use venue located in Saint-Brieuc hosting multiple activities: food hall, brewery, bar, wine cellar, pop-ups, garden, and a cultural and artistic program. Spread over 1,300 m², Bazaar Hall features 4 kitchens offering diverse culinary options, a pizzeria, a craft brewery where beers are brewed on site, and a large bar equipped with about twenty taps.
DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURE
Since 1989, this industrial-style building housed a bowling alley with 8 wooden lanes, dozen of pool tables, arcade games, pinball machines, foosball, and darts. Bazaar Hall has come to life within this vast space, entirely reimagined. In transforming this former bowling alley, we aimed to preserve the original spirit of the place: raw materials, playful color schemes, and furniture creating an atmosphere that is simple, joyful, colorful, and welcoming. The project embraces the upcycling architecture: the old bowling lanes were transformed into tables, benches, and counters. Original machinery parts and pins have found a second life as lighting fixtures.
BRANDING
The visual identity of Bazaar Hall asserts its uniqueness by drawing from its past as a bowling alley. Rooted in the unique history of this place, the project is based on a strong, impactful typography, vivid colors, combined with shapes and patterns directly inspired by the worlds of bowling and pinball. This graphic identity unfolds throughout every corner of Bazaar Hall: signage, menu, floor markings, colorful rugs, merchandising, glassware… The design spreads across the space, contrasting with the simplicity of the materials while highlighting the building’s distinctive framework and the industrial soul of the venue.
NAMING
“Bazaar” refers to bustling markets and department stores where cultures intersect, and unique flavors, ideas, and creations are discovered — evoking a sense of charming disorder. “Hall” suggests a large, open, welcoming space where people come together to share, work, taste, and create. With this name, Bazaar Hall embodies a festive and friendly spirit — a vibrant place full of exchanges, sharing, and discovery.
SUB-BRANDING
This project also includes the creation and rollout of sub-identities for the venue’s different activities: the burger and BBQ restaurant “Braise Breizh”, the wine cellar “Musette”, the pizzeria “Casa Mulatti”. Each entity stands out while sharing a common secondary typography. Custom cans also have been created in collaboration with the brewery Uncle. The result is a lively and immersive atmosphere where heritage blends with conviviality.
